Poor Boy Pays for Old Lady’s Groceries, His Granny Gets $230k to Pay for Treatment Days Later – Story of the Day

Mary forgot her wallet while buying groceries, but a kind boy named Mark paid for her items. “Sometimes, we have to do good things, and karma will reward us later,” Mark said. Touched by his gesture, Mary took his contact information to repay him later.

Mary and her daughter Anastacia later visited Mark’s modest home to return the money. Mark revealed his grandmother needed expensive surgery and he had started a GoFundMe to raise funds. “She needs a huge surgery, and I started a GoFundMe,” Mark explained.

Moved, Mary and Anastacia decided to help. They shared the GoFundMe link and Mary’s story about Mark’s kindness on social media. “How about we share the story of the boy? Maybe it could go viral?” Anastacia suggested.

The story gained traction, and a news outlet even featured it. Donations poured in, surpassing the goal of $230,000 for Mark’s grandmother’s surgery. Mark was amazed at how his small act of kindness was repaid.

“Helping others can change your life,” as Mary’s efforts led to overwhelming support for Mark and his grandmother.
