Old Lady Promises Each of Her 5 Grandkids a $2M Inheritance, in the End No One Gets It — Story of the Day

A “savage” grandmother led her five grandchildren by the nose by promising each an inheritance worth $2M, but there was a twist in the will that they found out later.

Lesley was mostly alone after her husband George died, despite having five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. They rarely visited, even on holidays. Frustrated, she devised a plan.

Lesley visited her granddaughter Susan, a hardworking divorcée. She promised Susan a $2M inheritance if she visited every Sunday, but Susan had to keep it secret from her siblings. Susan agreed, and soon her schedule became chaotic with the added responsibility.

Lesley then made the same promise to her other grandchildren. They all agreed, thinking they’d inherit her wealth. For months, Lesley enjoyed their company, though it was motivated by greed.

When Lesley passed away, the grandchildren were shocked to learn that the $2M would be divided among her eleven great-grandchildren. Susan, however, found $300K hidden in a vase along with a note from Lesley, rewarding her true dedication.
