“Never Lend These 8 Items to Anyone—or Risk Attracting Poverty and Curses

Every choice we make, no matter how small it seems at the moment, can have a profound impact on the energy and direction of our lives. Often, people believe that financial difficulties, emotional exhaustion, or a sense of stagnation appear suddenly, as if from nowhere, but the truth is far more subtle. Most of these struggles begin when we stop setting boundaries and allow our resources—be they mental, emotional, or physical—to be used without discernment. Generosity is a noble quality, yet it is not synonymous with naivety.

Being generous without understanding the limits of what is healthy can slowly erode one’s peace, focus, and capacity to flourish. The Japanese thinker Yokoi Kenji often reflected on this concept, noting that order is not cold or rigid but a form of respect for life itself. Order creates clarity, clarity cultivates focus, and focus ultimately allows prosperity to manifest. In this framework, what we lend, or allow others to borrow from us, is not just a matter of material exchange but a transfer of personal energy, time, and life force. Protecting these intangible assets is essential to living a life of intentionality and balance.
