My Mother Hated Me for Looking Like My Biological Father, but Everything Changed When I Finally Found Him

All my life, I felt like an outsider in my own family. My mother adored my sisters but treated me like a burden—because I reminded her of a man she wanted to forget. I never understood why she resented me until I uncovered the truth.

Growing up, my sisters got love and gifts. I got hand-me-downs and chores. “Olivia, clean this. Olivia, do that.” My only comfort was my father, who tried to shield me. But as I got older, even he grew distant. Their arguments became frequent, loud, and full of accusations. At fourteen, I took a DNA test.

When the results came, everything fell apart.

My father discovered he wasn’t my biological dad. My mother had cheated. Days later, he tested my sisters—only Alexa was his. He left, filed for divorce, and cut ties. My mother’s hatred for me deepened. “You ruined my life,” she hissed. I paid rent while my sisters lived freely. Alexa bullied me daily, blaming me for everything.

At eighteen, I finally escaped. My old manager helped me land a sales job through his son’s company. I left the house behind—with all the pain, betrayal, and silence that shaped me. I promised myself I’d never look back.
