Greg Mathis Jr. and Elliott Cooper, who revealed their engagement in July 2024, are preparing for two significant wedding celebrations. Their private ceremony is set for October 21, 2024, in Cabo San Lucas, with a larger event planned for 2025 in Los Angeles. Greg Jr. acknowledged their hesitation about marriage over the years, stating, “For many years, we weren’t sure if we wanted to formally get married.” Elliott shared similar sentiments, noting, “Marriage seemed a bit more difficult to visualize.”

The couple emphasized the importance of their marriage within the LGBTIQ+ community, aiming to provide representation and encouragement: “Representation is important…to know that there is nothing wrong with them.” Despite initial fears of public scrutiny, they now view their upcoming wedding as a significant step in their relationship.

Their engagement took place at Republique in Los Angeles, where Elliott proposed during a family gathering. Looking ahead, Greg Jr. expressed excitement about their future plans, including their honeymoon and starting a family: “We are already a solid unit, but I’m excited for all of the added fun that the ‘Mathis-Coopers’ are going to have.”

Judge Greg Mathis Sr., proud of his son’s courage, celebrated their engagement on Instagram, noting, “Proud of my son Greg and fiancé Elliott for the COURAGE to ‘Keep It Real.’” The couple’s journey, from privacy to public celebration, reflects their commitment to each other and their community.
