I Found My Locket under My Husband’s Pillow, and It Led to a Horrible Truth

When Alice discovers a locket under her husband’s pillow, she thinks it’s hers. But upon checking her husband’s nightstand, she sees her locket is right there. This means the locket under the pillow isn’t hers. There is only one other person with the same locket—her sister, Sheila.

I’m Alice, a 58-year-old with a story to share.

Sometimes I babysit my sister’s grandchildren. This past weekend, while my husband was away visiting family, I babysat her grandkids because she was at a retreat.

Everything seemed fine until I found my locket under my husband’s pillow. Confused, I checked the nightstand and saw my locket there. The locket under the pillow belonged to Sheila.

When I asked Clive, he brushed it off. But my gut told me something was wrong. Both Sheila and Clive had been away for the weekend. The identical locket and odd feeling were pieces of a puzzle I needed to solve.
