Husband Makes Pregnant Wife Work 40+ Hours & Manage All House Chores — Family Finds Out on Thanksgiving Day

While their home underwent renovations, a woman and her fiancé stayed at her sister’s house. During their stay, she saw how her pregnant sister received no help from her husband, who expected her to handle all household chores despite working over 40 hours a week. This realization prompted the woman to teach her brother-in-law a lesson at Thanksgiving dinner.

In November 2021, an anonymous woman shared this story on Reddit’s “AITA” forum. She described her sister’s husband as embodying “weaponized incompetence.” Despite having a full-time job, managing the household, and caring for their four children, her sister’s husband did nothing to help.

While staying with her sister, the woman and her fiancé offered support, which made her sister feel relieved. However, the brother-in-law continued to shirk his responsibilities. At Thanksgiving, when he made a comment about fatherhood, the woman called him out, labeling him a pathetic excuse for a man. Though her sister thanked her, the brother-in-law was furious, claiming she embarrassed him in front of his family.
