‘Heartbroken’ Gary Sinise mourning sudden death of son, 33

Gary Sinise and his family are grieving the sudden loss of his son, McCanna Anthony “Mac” Sinise, who passed away at 33. Gary shared the heartbreaking news of Mac’s battle with cancer, revealing his passing on January 5. Mac had been fighting a rare form of cancer called Chordoma since 2018, while Gary’s wife, Moira Harris, battled stage three breast cancer.

Despite his health challenges, Mac pursued his passion for music, joining the Gary Sinise Foundation and performing as a drummer alongside his father in the Lt. Dan Band. He graduated from the University of Southern California in songwriting and composition, despite being paralyzed from the chest down. Just before his passing, Mac completed his album “Resurrection & Revival.”

Gary expressed the profound grief of losing a child, acknowledging the difficulty of the journey. He emphasized Mac’s resilience and determination throughout their family’s 5 ½ year cancer battle. Mac’s legacy lives on through his family, and Gary is committed to honoring him by releasing his album on vinyl.

In the face of immense loss, Gary’s words reflect his deep love and admiration for his son, whose memory will continue to inspire. The thoughts are with the Sinise family during this difficult time.
