‘Your Boyfriend Is Cheating on You’: I Received This Note during Our Vacation – Story of the Day

That evening was perfect – a family dinner with Mark’s parents by the ocean. I was pleasantly surprised by the day. Nothing could spoil it. How wrong I was! As Mark dozed off in bed, something rustled under the door. It was a note: “Your boyfriend is cheating on you.” That was only the first twist in my story.

Mark and I arrived at his parents’ beautiful seaside house. The house, with white walls and blue shutters, was charming. The scent of saltwater and crashing waves made me feel relaxed and happy.

Mark’s father greeted us warmly. “Welcome, Odri! It’s so nice to finally meet you,” he said, shaking my hand. His siblings followed, each offering friendly greetings. Mark’s mother, who had been distant, also seemed kind. “I’m glad you could join us, Odri. We’ve heard so much about you.”

The house buzzed with activity as everyone prepared for Mark’s birthday. Decorations went up, and a barbecue was set on the patio. The delicious smell of grilling meat mixed with the salty sea breeze.

Later, Mark’s family shared funny vacation stories, and I felt like I was becoming part of their family. But that night, as Mark slept, I found the note. My heart sank as I stared at the words. Who could have sent this? And why?
