The day’s most horrible news. Celine Dion sadly confirmed it.

Canadian singer Céline Dion has postponed her European tour due to a rare neurological condition called stiff-person syndrome. Dion explained, “My terrible sickness prevented me from singing the way I’m used to.” Stiff-person syndrome causes muscle rigidity and spasms, which can lead to paralysis and restricted mobility. Dion, 54, tearfully shared that the muscle spasms affect her daily life, making it challenging to walk and speak normally.

She expressed disappointment about delaying her tour and rescheduling it for the following year, affecting eight shows from May 31 to July 17, 2023. Despite her condition, Dion and her medical team are working hard to improve her health.

“Singing is all I know. I’ve done it my entire life, and I enjoy doing it the most,” she said, emphasizing her determination to perform again. Dion has dealt with health issues for a long time, including a previous tour delay due to severe muscle spasms.

Stiff-person syndrome is a rare condition, with fewer than 5,000 cases in the US, typically appearing in adulthood. Dion continues to update fans on her tour status through her website.
