Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband Brandon Blackstock pocketed millions from singer – now ordered to return it all

Kelly Clarkson has been candid about the challenges she faced post-divorce, particularly the financial aftermath. However, recent developments suggest she may finally be seeing some justice.

Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock, her ex-husband, divorced in 2021 after an eight-year marriage. Amidst their split, Clarkson engaged in a legal battle with Blackstock over alleged overcharging in commission fees. As her former manager, Blackstock had reportedly taken substantial sums from her earnings.

Now, a California labor commissioner has ruled in Clarkson’s favor, ordering Blackstock to reimburse her approximately $2,641,374. The ruling highlighted Blackstock’s unlawful actions in securing deals and gigs for Clarkson while acting as her manager. Notably, only talent agents, not managers, are authorized to secure employment for clients.

Clarkson’s victory marks a significant step towards financial restitution amid the tumultuous divorce proceedings. Despite the challenges, Clarkson remains resilient, focusing on her career and family, including her two children and her Montana ranch, which she retained post-divorce. She has also found solace in her newfound independence, expressing contentment with being single for the time being.
