Cher has announced the tragic news her mum Georgia Holt has died at the age of 96.

The legendary singer, 76, shared the heartbreaking news on Twitter on Sunday afternoon (local time) – just months after she told fans her mum was hospitalised with pneumonia.

“Mum is gone,” Cher wrote, along with a sad face emoji.
