A Missing Little Girl Who Was Featured On “Unsolved Mysteries” Has Finally Been Found

Kayla Unbehaun, a girl missing since 2017 and featured on Netflix’s “Unsolved Mysteries,” has been located alive in North Carolina at the age of fifteen. Her mother, Heather Unbehaun, who had custody during her disappearance, was arrested on a fugitive charge after the discovery.

A Good Samaritan recognized Kayla during a shopping trip in Asheville and alerted authorities. Kayla’s biological father, Ryan Iskerka, expressed joy and gratitude for her safe return and requested privacy.

Kayla went missing in 2017 while under her mother’s care, sparking a search effort. Her case was highlighted on “Unsolved Mysteries” in 2022. Iskerka, who had custody exchange plans with the mother, reported her missing when they failed to appear.

The case underscores the significance of community awareness and media exposure in locating missing persons and reuniting families.
