Entitled Landlord Raised Our Rent by $650 – We Had Enough and Taught Him a Costly Lesson

When our landlord hiked our rent by $650, it was the last straw. Living in a rundown apartment with a broken fridge and constant harassment pushed us to the edge. Determined to get revenge, we concocted a clever plan to make him regret his greed and teach him an unforgettable lesson.

Amber and I endured a year of broken appliances and unannounced visits from Mr. Williams. When we asked for a short lease extension, he increased the rent by $650. Furious, we decided to act.

On moving out, we hid tuna behind AC vents, poured rotten eggs into curtain rails, spilled milk on the bathroom mat, and placed dead mice on ceiling fans. The apartment reeked.

Two months later, the rental agent confirmed the unit was still vacant due to the smell. Mr. Williams demanded we fix it, and we agreed—if he refunded our deposit and extra rent. He reluctantly agreed. Justice served, we cleaned up and moved on.
