My Mother Dates my Ex — Story of the Day

Cynthia is heartbroken to discover her mother, Dana, is dating John, her ex-boyfriend. Convinced John is still caught up in his troubled past and targeting Dana’s wealth, Cynthia is determined to expose his true intentions. But will Dana uncover John and Cynthia’s secrets first?

Cynthia had spent the morning preparing to meet Dana’s new boyfriend. Dana had been oddly secretive about him, making Cynthia suspicious.

“Hello,” Cynthia called as she entered the apartment.

She spotted her mom on the sofa with her new man, who had his back to her. Dana self-consciously straightened her dress.

“Oh, sweetie, you’re early,” Dana smiled. “Meet my boyfriend, John.”

John stood, revealing his face. Cynthia’s jaw dropped—it was her ex-boyfriend.

The oven timer dinged. “How about you two chat? The pie is ready!” Dana said, leaving the room.

“Is this your revenge for me dumping you?” Cynthia hissed at John.

“No, Cynthia. I didn’t know Dana was your mother,” John replied.

Dana returned with the pie. “Everything’s ready!”

Cynthia, determined to protect her mother, confronted John again, but Dana remained oblivious to the tension between them.
