The Kilburn family initiated a GoFundMe campaign to secure custom shoes for Eric, whose current pair cost $1,500. Major footwear designers, including Under Armour, Puma, and CAT, responded, offering to design custom shoes. However, the most unexpected call came from NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal himself.

Having experienced similar struggles in his youth, Shaq’s team at Reebok designed five different pairs for Eric, accompanied by a heartfelt note expressing support.
