Trump Gets Big News From One Of Country’s Biggest Unions

The United Auto Workers (UAW) union, representing over 400,000 members, has endorsed President Trump’s tariffs on imports from Mexico, Canada, and China.

The union argues that these tariffs are a tool to reverse the negative effects of free trade, which they say has led to the loss of blue-collar jobs as corporations outsourced labor to countries with low wages. While acknowledging concerns about higher consumer prices, the UAW blames corporate America for price-gouging, not the tariffs. The union is engaged in talks with the Trump administration to negotiate trade agreements that will bring jobs back to the U.S. This endorsement is notable given the UAW’s previous support for Biden, underscoring Trump’s growing appeal among labor groups. Other unions, like the Teamsters, have also shown support for Trump’s “America First” message.
