Bruce Springsteen’s Wife, Patti, Reveals Diagnosis: Details

In a recent documentary, Patti Scialfa revealed her struggle with multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer she was diagnosed with in 2018. The film, “Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band,” premiered at the Toronto Film Festival on September 8 and explores the close-knit world of Bruce Springsteen and his band.

Scialfa, who has been a member of the E Street Band since 1984 and married Springsteen in 1991, discussed how her diagnosis has impacted her ability to perform. She shared that the illness affects her immune system, making her cautious about her activities. As a result, she has had to scale back her touring, now managing only a few shows.

Although she did not attend the documentary premiere, Scialfa expressed contentment with her current situation, finding joy in performing even in a limited capacity. The documentary provides a deeper look into her life and performances with Springsteen.
