This Woman Slept on the Floor of Intense Care to Be near Her Hollywood Star Husband – They Wed in 15 Minutes & Made It to 61 Years Together

Born Ramón Gerardo Antonio Estévez on August 3, 1940, the actor known as Martin Sheen gained prominence with roles in “The Subject Was Roses” and “Badlands.” His breakthrough came in 1979 with his portrayal of Captain Benjamin Willard in “Apocalypse Now.” Sheen, a celebrated actor with multiple Emmy, SAG, and Golden Globe Awards, faced a challenging start. Born in Dayton, Ohio, to an Irish mother and a Spanish father, he suffered a birth injury that left him with limited use of his left arm. Despite early hardships, including the loss of his mother and financial struggles, Sheen pursued acting passionately.

He adopted the stage name Martin Sheen after finding his birth name problematic. Sheen married Janet Templeton in 1961; they’ve celebrated over 60 years together. They’ve raised four children, including Emilio and Charlie Sheen, both successful actors.
