While on the Beach with My Husband, a Woman Ran Up, Knelt, and Said His Name

Rosa and John celebrated their 10th anniversary with a surprise trip to the Dominican Republic. “Pack your bags, babe. We leave in three hours,” John exclaimed. Rosa was thrilled, feeling a mix of excitement and guilt for not spending enough time together lately.

On their third evening, a woman in a white swimsuit appeared, kneeling before John. “You’re the love of my life… Will you marry me?” Rosa’s world tilted as John burst out laughing, revealing it was Julia, a college friend seeking revenge for a past prank. “I once mocked her during a theater performance… She promised to get her revenge someday,” John explained.

As the tension unwound, Rosa remembered the gift box in her pocket. “Sweetie… I was gonna tell you a few minutes ago… We’re going to have a baby,” she whispered, holding out a delicate silver chain with a tiny locket. John’s eyes filled with tears, “I love you so much, Rosa. You’ve just made me the happiest man on Earth.”

Their emotional rollercoaster of a day brought them closer together. As they stood on the beach, watching the sun dip below the horizon, Rosa realized that this crazy day had brought them even closer together.

John pulled Rosa into a tight hug, “I’m so sorry we scared you. I had no idea Julia was here or that she’d do this.” Rosa smiled, “I almost had a mini heart attack, you jerk.” Their love prevailed, ready to face the new chapter ahead.
