Hezly Rivera’s journey into gymnastics was serendipitous. Discovered at a friend’s birthday party at age five, Hezly’s natural talent caught the eye of coaches who encouraged her parents to enroll her in gymnastics. By her first audition, she was already on the team. Her passion for the sport grew as she trained extensively, often homeschooling to accommodate her rigorous practice schedule.
In 2024, at 16, Hezly qualified for the Paris Olympics. Despite not making it to the finals, her hard work paid off as she was part of the U.S. team that won gold in the team event. Her father’s emotional support and her own unwavering dedication were crucial. Though Hezly did not compete in the individual finals, her contribution to the team’s success was vital, and she proudly represented both her American and Dominican heritage.
