This Famous Actor’s Son Became an Orphan at the Age of 13

Christopher Reeve passed away in October 2004, and his wife Dana Reeve also died of cancer less than two years later. Their deaths left their only child, William Reeve, orphaned.

Christopher Reeve, best known as Clark Kent in “Superman,” died in 2004. Less than a year later, Dana Reeve announced she had cancer and died a few months after. Kathy Lewis, president of Reeve’s foundation, mentioned Dana looked “strong and courageous” shortly before her passing.

Dana, a singer and actress, appeared in series like “OZ” and “Law and Order.” She performed at Madison Square Garden for Mark Messier’s New York Rangers jersey retirement. After Christopher’s death, she chaired his foundation, which funds spinal cord injury research.

William Reeve, pursuing sports journalism, continues his parents’ efforts. He shared how hard it was losing his parents, writing to his younger self to keep going. On Father’s Day 2021, William paid tribute to his dad, recalling feeling connected through a whale documentary.
