The 14-year-olds became Britain’s youngest parents

In 2010, April Webster and Nathan Fishbourne became the United Kingdom’s youngest parents when their son, Jamie, was born.

Both were only 14 at the time, having discovered April’s pregnancy when she was 13. Their story, originating in Caerphilly, South Wales, drew national and international attention, sparking public debate and mixed reactions.

The teenagers’ relationship began as a typical school romance at St. Cenydd School but changed drastically when April became pregnant. Her parents were shocked, and she initially felt embarrassed to admit what had happened. Nathan’s parents were also disappointed but decided to support their son, vowing to stand by him and the baby.
