Leavitt Tells Reporters Trump Has Been Much More Accessible Than Biden

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized President Donald Trump’s media accessibility, contrasting it with former President Joe Biden’s limited press engagement.

Speaking at an Axios event, she defended changes to press pool rules, claiming they promote broader access and transparency. Leavitt argued that fewer dominant outlets and more diverse voices now cover the White House, enabling greater inclusion.

While critics worry about potential restrictions, Leavitt insisted no journalists were barred—rather, more were included. She highlighted that even left-leaning outlets retained access despite ideological differences.

Axios previously reported that Biden held only 164 interviews by mid-2024, compared to Trump’s 468. Leavitt concluded that the changes reflect a shift to meet the demands of a digital media age and align with Trump’s unconventional media approach.
