Inside Anderson Cooper’s Converted Firehouse Home Where He Lives with Kids He Shares with His Ex

In a heartfelt announcement on “Anderson Cooper 360,” the CNN anchor shared the joy of welcoming his second child, Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper, with his longtime partner and friend, Benjamin Maisani. The couple, while no longer romantically involved, prioritizes co-parenting their two sons, Wyatt and Sebastian.

The unique family dynamic involves Benjamin, a successful businessman and former bar owner, seamlessly sharing parenting responsibilities with Anderson. Despite their breakup in 2018, Anderson emphasizes their enduring familial bond, stating, “We’re a family.” Benjamin, who is in the process of legally adopting Wyatt, is affectionately called “papa” by the older child.

The family resides in a converted firehouse in Greenwich Village, New York, a home Anderson acquired in 2010. The 8,240-square-foot space retains its historical charm, featuring original fire poles, murals, and even a kitchen island restored by Anderson himself. In a 2020 tour, Anderson revealed personal touches in Wyatt’s nursery, including a painting by his late mother, Gloria Vanderbilt.

Despite facing personal losses, including the deaths of his mother and brother, Anderson embraces fatherhood as “the best time in my life.” The family’s routine involves morning swims, bedtime stories, and shared moments that reflect the unconventional but loving co-parenting journey of Anderson Cooper and Benjamin Maisani.
