Homemade Mouse Repellent Spray

Rats and mice rarely attack humans, but they can pose serious health risks due to the diseases they carry. Thankfully, you don’t need toxic chemicals to protect your home. Here are simple and affordable ways to keep mice away using household items.

1. Humane Traps
Non-lethal traps are widely available and easy to use. Add bait like peanut butter and place them near areas where mice are active. Always wear gloves to avoid leaving human scent.

2. Peppermint Essential Oil
Soak cotton balls with 20–30 drops of peppermint oil and place them in each room—especially kitchens and bathrooms. The smell is pleasant to us, but repels mice.

3. Clove Essential Oil
Similar to peppermint, clove oil works well. Boost its power by placing whole cloves in the cotton center.

4. Bay Leaves
Scatter bay leaves or grow laurel in pots near entry points. Mice dislike the scent.

5. Aluminum Foil
Cover surfaces mice climb. It’s slippery and noisy—both deterrents.
