At 65, Donna, a widow, adopts an abandoned toddler, Robbie. For 13 years, they live happily until Robbie’s birth mother shows up.

One stormy evening, Donna, closing her baby store, spots Robbie, a toddler she saw earlier that day, wandering alone. She takes him home, only to find a note from his mother, who had abandoned him. Donna, infertile and widowed, embraces motherhood, adopting Robbie.

Years later, Robbie, now 15, accidentally finds out about his birth mother. Despite Donna’s efforts to keep them apart, Robbie eventually meets her. Torn between the two, Robbie chooses to stay with Donna, the only mother he’s known. Whitney, his birth mother, moves nearby, and they all find peace, forming an unconventional but loving family.
