Joan Van Ark spotted for the first time in over three years

Joan Van Ark, renowned for her role as Valene Ewing on “Dallas” and its spin-off “Knots Landing,” has been seen in public in Los Angeles for the first time in three years. The 78-year-old actress was dressed in casual sportswear, including “tall brown boots” and a ponytail, as she ran errands solo, at one point “feeding change into a parking meter.”

Van Ark, who “was married three times to her on-screen love interest, Gary Ewing,” played by Ted Shackelford, has had an illustrious TV and film career spanning 55 years. Despite her success, she now leads a private life, occasionally lending her voice to shows like “Doom Patrol” (2019) and “Curious George” (2021). Her last on-screen appearance was in “Psycho Wedding Crasher” in 2017.

Married for 56 years to TV reporter John Marshall, Van Ark remains active within the Hollywood community. Her recent outing suggests she continues to enjoy her life, maintaining her celebrity legacy while cherishing personal privacy.
